An Overview Of Alaskan Christian Cruises

Thursday, August 5th, 2010

Whatever your status, married, single or a family unit, if you are a Christian seeking a trip of a lifetime, cruising to the pristine beauty of Alaska will be an answer to prayer. Alaskan Christian cruises have soared in popularity of late and for good reason, as this article aims to show. Let it be stated though, at the outset-you do not have to be a Christian to enjoy the experience of a cruise to the Great North.

There is something special about sharing your faith whilst at the same time enjoying an adventure with either people you are familiar with from church or complete strangers (not for long though)! Not only do you make new friends, but get to see some of the most jaw-dropping scenery you could ever imagine. Gods creation is at its most extravagant in the wilds of Alaska. Many touch a spiritual dimension they have seldom known before. Perhaps it is the majesty of the scenery?

There are lots of ships cruising north, and many Christian groups are more than ever taking the opportunity to spread the message and joy of their faith whilst having good fellowship in this unique experience. Often a Pastor is heading up a group, and bible studies, prayer, communion and praise and worship is often a crucial part of the vacation. Floating church you might say!

Of course, it may be that you are looking for a more serene and restful break. No problem. You can relax in your cosy berth, take a deck chair on, (naturally) the deck, and just watch the ever changing scenery-which is one of the great attractions of cruising. There is a very calming influence about the ocean and many find it extremely therapeutically. The meditative mood is easy to succumb to and the entanglements of everyday life and its problems are easier to handle in this environment. You can be transformed by the renewing of your mind, to quote the Apostle Paul.

There are several cruise lines offering annual retreats for Christians and many make these trips every year, and make many long lasting relationships as a result;all the time adding to their experience of Gods glorious creation.

All in all, Alaskan Christian cruises are a Godsend as there are so many wonderful and lasting benefits to be had over and above the secular and mundane. Fellowship, teaching through top international speakers, personal counseling sessions, great Christian music and regular bible studies. On a more pragmatic note; the best cruising months are usually May to September. If you travel in July you can experience eighteen to twenty four hours of daylight!
